Two middle-aged devotees from Tamil Nadu returning after offering worship at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara were killed when their two-wheeler was hit by a state-run bus on the ghat road near here, police said.

The devotees, including a woman, were descending the Tirumala hills when the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus coming behind hit them, they said.

The driver of the bus fled the scene and was absconding, police added.
