Two persons, including a farmer, were killed and as many injured after being struck by lightning in Kaushambi and Raebareli districts, police said here today.
A 40-year-old farmer, Jagatpal Raidas, died on spot when lightning struck him yesterday. He was working in his field at Malak Pinjari village in Manjhanpur area of Kaushambi when the incident occurred, they said.
Similarly in Raebareli, Rajjan, Amritlal and Suni Kumar were working in field at Sikandarpur village in Jagatpur area yesterday when lightning struck them.
While 22-year-old Rajjan died on the spot, the other two were admitted to the hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
