A little girl and an elderly woman were killed today when the boat they were ferrying capsized in Mani river in South 24-Parganas district of West Bengal.
The police said Reshmi Gazi (4) and an unidentified elderly woman drowned when the motorised boat sunk after leaving the ghat at Raidighi this morning.
Eight others were traumatised and admitted to a local hospital.
A total of 30 passengers set out in the boat from Raidighi to cross the river to reach Moipith.
