Two men died and as many were injured in a fire that broke out at a paint factory in Naiwala area of Karol Bagh today.

According to a senior officer of Delhi Fire Services, a call was received around 6.30 PM about the fire and eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

The fire was doused in 30 minutes and two bodies were recovered. It is suspected that they died of suffocation, the officer said.

Two persons, who have sustained 40 per cent burn injuries were rescued and they are currently admitted to RML hospital, he said.

The building, where the fire broke out, is a semi- residential and commercial one. It has two floors. A drum containing car polish was found in a shed on the second floor and it is suspected that the fire spread rapidly due to it, the officer said.

Cooling operations at the building are on and officials are searching if there are more casualties. It is suspected that the fire started due to a short-circuit, he said.
