A 20-year-old girl of New Seemapuri area here died of dengue today, and another woman has succumbed due to suspected (dengue) virus in the city.

Hina's uncle Sikander Ahmed alleged that she was admitted to Shreya hospital in Shalimar Garden colony of Sahibabad eight days back due to symptoms of high fever and stomach ache.

Her condition deteriorated over the week and she was finally put on a ventilator.

She died this morning due to dengue and multi-organ failure, according to hospital doctors.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashish Srivastava said that Karim Khan, the victim's brother has alleged ill-treatment of the girl and apathy of doctors attending her.

In a separate incident, family members of a 42-year-old woman have alleged that she died of dengue in Colombia Asia hospital last night.

Shakti Devi was admitted to the hospital on September 22.

Rebutting the claim of the woman's family members, District Malaria Officer Dr Gyanendra Mishra said that she died of an acute viral syndrome with multi organ failure, instead of dengue.

Clinical reports of all suspected dengue patients admitted in various private hospitals have been summoned by the Chief Medical Officer.

"Hospitals reluctant to provide the reports to district health department will be penalised," Mishra said.
