drowned in a pond at Dighal village in Jhajjar district, police said today.
The incident took place when Dharmender (28) and Krishan took their cattle to the village pond for bath last evening, police said.
In an effort to fetch their cattle, Krishan entered the pond but slipped into the deep water and got drowned, they said.
Hearing his plea, Dharmender also jumped into the pond to save him but he also drowned.
Villagers pulled both out of the pond and rushed them to civil hospital from where they were referred to PGIMS hospital.
Both died on the way to PGIMS, police said
