Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested today after police intercepted their vehicle in Anantnag district of south Kashmir and recovered some contraband substance from their possession, police said.
Acting on a specific information, police checking squad intercepted a private car near Sangam bridge, 42 kms from here, on Srinagar-Jammu national highway and arrested the peddlers travelling in the vehicle, a police spokesman said.
He said 28 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered during search of the vehicle.
A case was registered and further investigation is on, the spokesman said.
