Two drug peddlers held with 1 kg opium

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested today with 1 kg opium from a check-post at Bhullarai crossing here, police said.

The accused have been identified as Bhupinder Singh alias Bhindi and Goldy Virdi, both residents of Jalandhar.

The duo were arrested at the check-post ('naka') on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road here when they were coming on a bike, police said.

A case under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against the duo, police said.
