Two drug peddlers held with heroin in JK

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested Wednesday and over eight grams of heroin was seized from them in separate operations in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Rakesh Singh, a resident of Devika village, was arrested from main bazaar Udhampur town along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, a police spokesperson said.

He said six grams of heroin was seized from the possession of the smuggler who was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Another drug peddler Ankush Balam was arrested along with 2.2 grams of heroin from Sunderpur village of R S Pura in the outskirts of Jammu, the spokesperson said.

 

He said a case under the NDPS Act was registered against him.
