Two East MCD employees were suspended today by Mayor Harshdeep Malhotra for not discharging their duties properly and on corruption charges.
The mayor raided control room of Shahdara (North) zone which operates round the clock last night to verify complaints against the in-charge Narendra Mait.
"A complaint against indecent behaviour of control room in-charge Narendra Mait was received by the Mayor. It was found that Mait was not properly listening to the complaints," said MCD spokesman Yongendra Singh Mann.

The Mayor directed the Deputy Commissioner of the zone to look into the matter. Following which Mait was today placed under suspension after recording of statements of eye witness by Deputy Commissioner.
Another employee Ashok Sehgal, dealing with disbursal of pension was also placed under suspension on charges of corruption against him. The complainant had also made available a recording as proof against corruption charge against Singhal.
The Mayor said "corruption will not be tolerated at any cost and added that a zero tolerance policy has been adopted by the MCD against corruption and indecent behaviour with people.
