Two electricity workers injured in attack

Two electricity workers were injured in an attack allegedly by locals, when they along with three other fellow workers went to pick up equipments at Dhabi Tek Singh village here.

The five workers of Gadhi Electricity Division had reportedly received orders from SDO P D Kashik to pick up the electricity equipment from the houses where power connections were cut.

When the workers arrived there, they were allegedly attacked by the locals, including some women.

Two linemen suffered serious injuries and have been admitted to a hospital in Narvana area here.

SDO P D Kashik said that a complaint has been lodged at Gadhi police station against one Ram Nivas and other women and police is investigating the case.
 

Electricity Board Union President Randhir Grover said, "if the offenders are not arrested soon, we will stage a protest and the administration will be responsible for that.
