Two employees of a road construction company were arrested when they were on their way to hand over money to Maoists as demanded by them in naxal-hit Palamau district today, police said.
The arrest was made when the duo carrying Rs 2.50 lakh were going to hand over the alleged 'levy' amount to CPI (Maoists), said Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Manoj Kumar Mahato.
A police team intercepted them near Chawa Chattan under Hussainabad police station and arrested them after the money was seized, he said.
The arrested persons are being interrogated by the police, he added.
