Two engineering students of a private college here were arrested today for allegedly ragging their junior a few days back, police said.

The duo who are pursuing B.Tech at Pydah College of Engineering and Technology allegedly used to harass K Satish, a first year student, on his dress, said Anandapuram police station inspector A Parthasaradhi.

The accused, identified as Arvinda Kumar and Venkatesh, used to harass Satish for leaving top two buttons of his shirt open and ask him to follow a proper dress code to college.

Satish had complained to Principal following which the duo were suspended from college for a week. They were also made to pay fine of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 each, police said.

However, they again targeted Satish on October 13 for complaining against them to the Principal, following which he approached police, Parthasarathi said.

A case was registered against Arvinda and Venkatesh under section 4 (2) of Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act 1997.
