Two persons were shot at by unidentified assailants travelling in a car in an apparent instance of road rage in Outer Delhi's Begumpur area.

However, both escaped the bullet shots, police said.

Suresh Mathur and his uncle Yogesh Mathur were on their way back home on a bike when near a crossing in Begumpur when they spotted a car coming from the opposite direction in the wrong lane at a high speed.

"They asked the occupants of the car to drive carefully in the correct lane, which led to an argument between them. The argument got heated up and in a fit of rage, one of the occupants of the car, Bhola, came out, pulled out his pistol and opened fire at the victims," said a police official.

The bullets missed the duo and the assailants fled from the spot in their car, the official said.

Suresh lodged a complaint in the matter, police said, adding further probe in the matter is on.
