Two eunuchs have been booked for allegedly robbing a woman of her jewellery worth around Rs 7.5 lakh in suburban Kandivali, police said today.

The incident took place last evening at Charkop. As per the complainant, the accused came at her residence and approached her on the pretext of asking for water, a senior police official said.

When the woman went inside her house, the two eunuchs allegedly spread some chemical in the house after which she became unconscious, said the official.

The duo then took the key of almirah from a drawer in her house and looted jewellery worth Rs 7.5 lakh, he said.

However, the accused, whose identity is yet to be established, did not steal the cash which was kept along with the jewellery in the almirah and also did not steal the ornaments which the woman was wearing, the official said.

A case under section 394 (voluntary causing hurt in causing robbery), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison etc to commit an offence) and 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt assault or wrongful restraint) of IPC was registered in this regard, police said, adding investigations are on.
