A total of 27 cases involving government officers and public functionaries in Goa were pending with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) since 2015, the assembly was informed today.
These cases include one involving former Public Works Department Minister and sitting NCP legislator Churchill Alemao, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said.
He was responding to a question tabled by Digambar Kamat (Congress).
A total of 27 cases are pending before the vigilance department of the Anti-Corruption Bureau since 2015, Parrikar said.
The department is investigating allegations against Alemao and then officials of his department for criminal misconduct in procuring a water storage tank. The procurement allegedly caused loss to the government exchequer.

The case was filed in 2016 after then BJP legislator Damodar Naik raised the issue in the House.
Former Information Technology Minister Dayanand Narvekar is being investigated for alleged irregularities in respect of expenditure incurred on setting up of an IT Park at Succoro near Panaji.
The department is also investigating a case against former bureaucrat and current Goa convenor of the Aam Admi Party Elvis Gomes for droppingthe acquisition proceedings of land admeasuring 30256 square metre in Margao town, according to the information provided by the CM.
The Vigilance department is also investigating a case against field manager of Goa Industrial Development Corporation Ghanashyam Malvankar for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh, according to the information furnished in the reply.
Malvankar is brother-in-law of former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
