A magisterial enquiry has been ordered into the death of two excise constables posted at a private distillery here, police said today.
District Magistrate C P Tripathi has ordered a probe into the death of the constables who were found unconscious at Radicon Khaitan distillery on Monday and declared dead by doctors on the same day, they said.
A case was registered in the incident yesterday, police said.

He however, noted that the post mortem report could not specify the cause of death hence viscera of the deceased have been preserved.
"Ravi Kumar Yadav, the third constable of excise department who was posted along with the deceased at the distillery has been detained for questioning," Circle officer Aaley Hassan said.
"Yadav has stated that alcohol bottles were being taken out by the deceased duo for Holi," he said.
On the other hand, Managing Director of the distillery K P Singh accused the deceased constables of stealing liquor bottles from the distillery.
"The alcohol bottles recovered from the pockets of the deceased were thrown out to hush up the case. The personnels' presence at the factory site till 11 pm should also be probed as their duty ended at 8 pm," he said.
