Two farmers have allegedly committed suicide while three died of cardiac arrest in parts of Uttar Pradesh, all apparently distressed over damage to their crops due to unseasonal rains in the state.
One Rajveer Singh (57) committed suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree in his field yesterday in village Nagla Incha in Jaswat Nagar area of Etawah, Circle Officer, Anil Kumar said today.
The villagers claimed that Singh was upset due to loss of his wheat crop.

The farmer had four bighas of land and his crop was damaged due to rains after which he was apparently upset.
Meanwhile in Muzaffarnagar, three more farmers have died of cardiac arrest apparently distressed over ruining of their crops due to untimely rains in the district.
The victims have been identified as Brijender (58) of Bhokaheri village, Baru (55) of Godhna village and Mahender (70) of Khanpur village, according to a report by the district administration.
Three farmers died due to heard failure in different places in the district yesterday, it said.
While families of the victims have claimed that the farmers died as they were upset after suffering crop loss during the recent rains, district authorities have sent officials to probe the death cases.
On April 11, three farmers from different villages in the district had also died of cardiac arrest.
