Two FIRs lodged against former JD(U) MLA

An FIR has been lodged at Bhagwanpur police station in Vaishali district by the proprietor of an engineering college, Santlal Yadav, who has alleged that Shukla demanded Rs two crore to raise funds for JD(U)'s 'Adhikar rally' in Patna next week, Superintendent of Police (SP) Upendra Kumar Sinha said.

Yadav, who is the Director of Pataliputra Engineering College, has alleged that Shukla, presently lodged in Muzaffarpur central jail, called him on mobile phone on October 26. The former MLA demanded Rs two crore and threatened him with dire consequences if this demand was not met, Sinha said.

A day earlier, Muzaffarpur central prison's jailer Dilip

Mitra lodged an FIR at Mithanpura police station against Shukla in connection with recovery of a mobile phone and a charger from the latter's cell.

Muzaffarpur Range DIG Shushil Khopre said investigation

was going on in both cases lodged against Shukla.

Meanwhile, the state JD(U) has sought to distance itself

from Shukla saying that the law will take its course against him if he has committed any crime.
