The Vigilance Organisation Jammu (VOJ) today booked two former senior town planners of the Jammu Municipal Corporation for allegedly granting building permission in violation with the government guidelines.

"An enquiry was initiated after a complaint was received that in 2010 senior town planner JMC Surinder Sharma issued building permission to Pawan Dubey in violation of all the rules set down by the government in the Master Plan," a VOJ spokesman said.

He said that Sharma in violation of all the rules had sanctioned permission for the construction of a multi-storey house in Green Belt Park area in Gandhi Nagar Jammu, which was later sold as a commercial complex.

A case under various sections has been registered against Surinder Sharma by Vigilance organisation Jammu, the spokesperson said.

In another case, former senior town planner Farzana Naqasbandi was also booked by the VOJ for granting building permission to Owasi Mustaq Burza in the same locality in violation of the norms laid down in the master plan.

"While granting building permission to Owais Mustaq Burza several rules of the JMC were broken and the permission was granted in violation of the master plan," the spokesman said.

He said that following the investigations, Naqasbandi has also been booked by the VOJ.
