Two freak deaths involving honey bee and peacock in Pollachi

:In two separate freak incidents, a headload worker taking a walk at Kinathikadavu on the city outskirts was killed after he was stung by honeybees while a pillion rider on a motorcyle died of injuries after a flying peacock suddenly fell on their speeding two wheeler.

Police today said that the 63-year-old headload worker was stung by a swarm of honeybees while he was walking on the footpath in Kinathukadavu on January 30. Passersby rescued him and got him admitted to Pollachi Government hospital.

But he succumbed to injuries yesterday afternoon, they said, adding the post mortem confirmed he had died of bee stings
 

Police said the two wheeler rider lost control of the speeding bike and both he and pillion fell on the road near Pollachi when a peacock accidentally came flying and fell on them yesterday morning, police said.

Pillion rider, Motilal (22) died on way to Government Hospital, while 23-year old Manoj was under treatment, with injuries on both hands, they said.
