Sandalwood smugglers, after a gap of some one month, struck again in the Race Course area, the heart of the city, with two full grown sandalwood trees being cut, police said today.
Morning walkers in the area noticed tree logs in front of CSI School and immediately informed police.
The miscreants had left three sandalwood logs at the place, while another tree was cut from the bottom and taken away, police said.

In appearance each tree could be about 10 years old, they said.
The incident, happening after a gap of nearly one month, put the police on high alert and spread a dragnet for the culprits.
