Two guards of Taloja prison arrested in bribery case

Two sepoys (guards) posted at the Taloja prison near here have been arrested on the charges of accepting bribe for 'not harassing an inmate', the anti-corruption branch of Thane police said today.

Saming Kamble (27) and Mahesh Yadav (34) had allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 from the complainant for not harassing his father who is lodged in the jail, an ACB release said here.

While the duo had allegedly accepted Rs

5,000 earlier, yesterday Yadav was caught while taking Rs 15,000 from the complainant, it said.

They were booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and further probe was on, it said.
