Two men were arrested for allegedly taking money from some people promising government jobs here, the police said today.
Prasanta Garai and Avijit Mullick were arrested last night for collecting Rs 5.40 lakh from some young men at a computer centre promising jobs in 2016.
The money was deposited with the owner of the computer centre. As no jobs were given to them till date, the duped people complained to the owner Soumya Saha, they said.
Saha lodged a complaint with the police that he had deposited the entire money to Prasanta Garai. On the basis of the complaint, police arrested the men. They also called Saha at the police station for enquiry.
