Two held for forging marksheets, transfer certificates

Two persons were arrested here today for allegedly forging marksheets and school leaving certificates of students of four schools in the city and subsequently, providing it to some other schools.

The two persons arrested were identified as Zulfikar Ibrahim Khan and Santosh Thakur, who allegedly forged marksheets and transfer certificates of wards studying in Sri Ram High School, Nerul, Queen Mary's High School, Mumbra, Al-Fala Urdu Primary School, Malvani, Rosary Convent School, Mumbra, senior PI Mumbra police station S M Mundhe, told PTI.

The duo then handed over the forged documents to a teacher, identified only with first name Jimal of Sara High School, Mumbra, and Arif of one Somaiya School, Mundhe said, adding, they both further used the certificates and marksheets by providing them to other students for getting admission in schools, colleges and employment purpose.
 

A case has been registered against the two under IPC section 464 (making false document), 465 (punishment for forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 472 (making or possessing counterfeit seal) and other relevant IPC sections.

It is suspected that there may be more people involved in it and further investigations are on, police said.
