Two held for gangraping cousin

Two persons were arrested for allegedly gangraping their teenage cousin for the last seven months, police said today.

The accused were arrested yesterday from Kashimira area here after the victim lodged a complaint on the same day, Kashimira police station inspector Anil Kadam said.

It is alleged that the accused, aged 36 and 32, raped the girl, who was living with them, several times since February, he said.

The duo also used to beat the victim and threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed anything to the relatives, he said.

The girl belonged to Nagpur and was living with her relatives for the last two years after completing her school studies, Kadam said.
 

The accused were booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 343 (wrongful confinement for three or more days), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causes hurt) and other relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Further probe is on in the case, police added.
