Two held for trying to enter IAF station on ID cards of others

The accused told the police that they tried to get into the AF station to get some construction work inside as it fetches good wages

Two youths have been arrested for trying to gain entry into Maharajpura Air Force Station near here using the ID cards of two labourers, who had worked at the facility in the past, police said today.

The duo, Asgar Khan (26) and Firoz Khan (20), was caught by Maharajpura Air Force police on February 7 and handed over to local police yesterday.

The accused told the police that they tried to get into the AF station to get some construction work inside as it fetches good wages.

"The duo tried to enter the Air Force Station by showing the ID cards of two labourers, Satish Tomar and Arjun Tomar, both of whom belong to their native place in Morena district and who had worked at the air force station in the past," district Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Virendra Jain told PTI.
 
Both the accused belong to Mata-Ka-Pura village of Khadiyar area in Morena district in the state.

"They told us that working as labourers at the AF station fetches Rs 350 daily wages, whereas they get Rs 250 elsewhere," Jain said.

According to the ASP, Asgar's elder brother Mukthar works as a hired labourer at the Air Force Station.

Police sources said the duo could be questioned by central agencies as well.

The accused were produced in a court today, which remanded them in police custody for two days.
