On August 1, Harishankar Sharma and Sriram Sangle, residents of a blind people's colony in Ambernath town of Thane district, were hired by two other blind youths - Ashok Yadav and Mahesh Yadav - for coaxing the woman to withdraw a rape complaint against them.

But she refused to withdraw the complaint against Ashok and Mahesh.

Following this, Sharma and Sangle intercepted her on a local train and tried to push her off the moving train near Vithalwadi station in Thane district, police said.

However, the woman managed to hold her grip over the iron rod near the door of the coach and raised an alarm.

Sensing trouble, the two men fled from the spot.

Later the woman, alongwith her husband, lodged a complaint against the accused, following which Kalyan railway police managed to nab Sharma and Sangle yesterday.

The woman was allegedly raped by Ashok and Mahesh on October 27, 2011, following which a case was going on against them in court.
