Two days after a terminal manager at the city's international airport was arrested by the Customs, another airport staff was today held for trying to smuggle gold into the country.
"Two persons, including Aniket Oroskar, a staff member of IDDS Ltd, an advertisement company appointed by GVK, which modernised the international airport, have been arrested," Milind Lanjewar, Additional Commissioner of Customs, Air Intelligence Unit (AIU), said.
A passenger Mohammed Abdullah, who had arrived from Dubai this morning, was intercepted while he was handing over gold worth Rs 45 lakh to Oroskar.
