Two persons were arrested today in connection with the recent murder of an elderly couple at their home at Gudivada town of Krishna district, police said.
Those arrested were Jillela Suresh and Selva Dorai, Superintendent of Police, Krishna District, Sarvasresth Tripathy told reporters here.
The couple B Sai Chowdary (70) and his wife B Nagamani (65), who were staying alone in the house, were murdered on the night of March 16. Cash and other valuables were also stolen from their house.
Police said Jillela Suresh, accused in four property offence cases, had hatched the plan along with Dorai.
After gaining entry into the house, they killed the couple and decamped with the cash and valuables and escaped from there in the couple's car.
The duo confessed that they have committed the offence due to their financial problems, Tripathy said.
Cases were registered against them under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide), he said.
