The two persons who had allegedly raped a 32-year-old married woman, filmed the entire incident and circulated the clip on the social media, have been arrested, police said today.

The accused, Irshad and Nazer, were arrested yesterday at Kailwada village near here, Circle Officer Jogender Lal said.

According to the complaint filed by the 32-year-old woman on Saturday, she was gangraped by two persons who recorded a video of the act two years ago in Kailawda village under Khatoli police station here. The accused have been blackmailing her since then.

The culprits had circulated the video clip on social media on Saturday, police said.

The search is on for four other persons who had allegedly participated in the crime and were named in victim's statement on Saturday, they said.

Police have also booked three shopkeepers who allegedly leaked the video on social media in the village and recovered a computer, memory card and other accessories during a search operation in this connection, the officer added.

The woman was sent for medical examination and produced before the magistrate, where she recorded her statement under 164 CRPC here on Saturday, Lal said.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened and extra police force deployed in the Kailawda village following tension between two communities.

This is the second such case of clip circulation in Muzaffarnagar district after a 40-year-old married health worker allegedly committed suicide on January 13 as the video of her gangrape was uploaded on social media.
