Two held in teenager rape case

A teenage girl was allegedly raped near here, with police arresting two persons in connection with the case.

According to police, youth Manoj M Jaiswal (23) had allegedly raped the 14-year-old girl in Ambernath area here on August 29, while the other accused Arjun S Jaiswal (35) assisted Jaiwal in taking the survivor to a secluded place.

The incident took place when the girl was returning home from her grandmother's place in Ambernath, when the two accused took her to a deserted place and one of them allegedly raped her.

The survivor after retuning home narrated the incident to her parents who on that very night lodged a complaint.
 

Both the men were arrested yesterday and have been charged under IPC section 376 (rape), section 363 rw 34 of the IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, police said.
