Two held with 10 kg heroin

Two persons were arrested today with 10 kgs of heroin in Kalyanpur village here.

Tarsem Singh and Dalveer Singh were arrested while they were riding on a scooty here, a police officer said, adding that five kilograms each of the drug were recovered from the duo during a search.

The worth of the drugs in the international market was estimated to be about Rs 5 crores.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two were bringing the supply from Amritsar for delivery here, when they were caught.

A case has been registered against them under the NDPS Act and investigations are on, the officer said.
