Two held with brown sugar worth Rs 10 lakh in West Bengal

Two persons were arrested from Malda district in the early hours of Friday after 614 gram of brown sugar was seized from their possession, police said.

The accused, both residents of Mallikpara of the district, were arrested from a hideout near the Khaltipur railway station under the jurisdiction of Kaliachak police station, the police said.

The contraband recovered from their possession is worth around Rs 10 lakh in the local market, the Superintendent of Police of Malda, Alok Rajoria, said.
