Police in Arvalli district of northern Gujarat today arrested two persons and seized Rs 1.5 crore in cash from them.

Anil Chauhan and Nagji Desai were held at Davli toll plaza on NH-8 near Modasa town of the district this afternoon, said the Superintendent of Police Mayursinh Chavda.

"They were coming from Udaipur in Rajasthan and headed towards Mehsana. Out of suspicion we stopped their car at the toll plaza and found a bag containing Rs 1.5 crore. They could not produce any bill or document explaining it," said Chavda.

They told the police that they work for the courier firm 'Prakash Angadia' which has branches across the state, and were tasked with delivering the case at Mehsana, he added.
