Two houses looted by unidentified men in UP

Six unidentified men allegedly looted jewellery and cash from two houses in different villages here, police said today.

The loot took place in the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, they said.

According to the police, the first incident occurred at Pedapura village in Bagwala Kotwali at the house of one Rameswar.

The armed men allegedly looted gold ornaments worth about two lakh rupees, Rs 18,000 cash, and other valuables at gun point, they said, adding two family members including a woman were also injured in the incident.

The injured, identified as Shyam Beti and Awdesh, have been admitted to district hospital where their condition is reported to be serious, police said.
 

In the second incident, the accused entered Saray village and looted property worth several lakh rupees from the house of one Manik Chand, they said.

A case against six unidentified persons has been registered with Bagwala Kotwali police.

No arrest has been made so far in the two cases, police said.

Meanwhile, a delegation of villagers met Etah SSP SK Verma in this regard and demanded action following which the SSP assured them prompt arrest of the accused and recovery of their property.
