Two including illegal arms-maker arrested, weapons recovered

An illegal arms factory was unearthed and weapons, material and instruments used in manufacturing arms recovered, police said today.

According to Sahibabad SHO Surendra Yadav, police last night detained Saleem, a resident of Arthla GDA flats, on the basis of suspicion near Anand industrial area during a routine checking and recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol from his possession.

Interrogations revealed that he had purchased the weapon from Shamsuddin of Balaji Vihar Colony at Arthla, who was in the business of manufacturing, repairing and selling illegal arms, he said.

Subsequently, police raided the premises from where Shamsuddin was running the illegal arms manufacturing factory and recovered a 12 bore country-made gun, eight pistols of .315, 12 and 38 bore and instruments used in manufacturing weapons.
 

Both the accused were booked under various sections of the Arms Act and sent to jail, the SHO added.
