Two injured after truck hits makeshift accommodation

Two persons were injured after an overspeeding truck rammed into their makeshift accommodation near Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, police said.

Surender (37) and Prabhu (32) were sleeping in their makeshift home near Ravidass Chowk red light when a speeding truck rammed into the accommodation, they said.

The accident happened at around 4:45 AM yesterday.

Locals informed the police following which the injured persons were rushed to Lady Hardinge Hospital where they are stated to be out of danger.

Police said that they are verifying whether the truck driver was drunk or he fell asleep behind the wheels.

The accused driver fled from the spot and is yet to be arrested.
