Two injured as leopard strays near residential area

Two persons were injured when they were attacked by a leopard, which strayed into the heart of the town, this evening, police said.

The animal was hiding among bushes near Kasanakotta railway track, which is near a densely populated residential area, police said.

Earlier, the animal was spotted near a house when it attacked two persons.

Kannur District Collector and senior police officials have rushed to the spot.

Forest officials are also camping in the area to tranquilise the animal, police said.
