Two injured as miscreants open fire in residential area

A group of miscreants created terror in Bharatnagar area of Bhusawal town in the district late last evening, opening fire and threatening residents.

Two persons were injured in the incident, police said.

The accused were identified as Mukesh Bhalerao, Ranu Boxer, Gaurav Badhe and five others.

Police have registered a case of attempt to murder under section 307 of IPC.

According to eye-witnesses, the accused first ransacked a house in the locality and fired in the air.

While they were fleeing on bikes, some locals challenged them in Pawannagar square.

The accused opened fire again and injured Nikhil Zambare (24). They also assaulted his brother Sumit Zambare (20) with a sharp-edged weapon, police said.
 

Both were taken to the civil hospital, Jalgaon.

Police have detained some of the accused. Further probe is on.
