Two injured as truck overturns near railway station

Two persons sustained serious injuries after a bricks-laden truck overturned near the ticket booking office of Vidyavihar railway station here today, officials said.

The incident took place around noon near the booking office located close to platform no. 1, a Central Railway official said.

"Soon after getting the information that the truck has overturned, the railway engineers, contractor of the truck, pathway workers as well as fire brigade and traffic police rushed to the spot," CR chief spokesperson Sunil Udasi said.

An official from the Disaster Management Cell of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said, "Two persons who sustained serious injuries in the incident were rescued and admitted to Rajawadi Hospital. Their condition is stable."

A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is also involved in the rescue operation.
