A riot took place in Alibag jail yesterday night, jail authorities said here today.
A jailor said that a case has been registered at the Alibag police station under Sections 143, 147, 149, 323, 504, 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
Ravindra Bhagwan Das and Imran Shariff Ansari were injured in the riot, after allegedly being assaulted by a mob led by Aadinath Tukaram Badekar and Gulab Shinde, sources said.
All of them have been shifted from the Alibag jail to the Taloja Jail, sources said.
