Two injured in blast

Two persons were injured in a

blast in the Malda district of West Bengal today while making bombs, police said.

Ziaul Sheikh and his son Nawab Sheikh of Hatichapa village under the limits of Baishnabnagar police station in the district were injured late in the evening when they, along with some others, were allegedly trying to make bombs in the house of one Murshed Sheikh, a senior officer of Baishnabnagar police station said.

"We have information about the incident. Murshed Sheikh is absconding after the incident and a search is on to trace his whereabouts. A police team has already rushed to the spot to investigate the matter," District Additional Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Modi said.
 

The NIA, along with West Bengal Police, are currently investigating the October 2 explosion case at a house in the Burdwan town in which two persons died and the involvement of a terror group is suspected.

Joint teams of West Bengal CID, the NIA and central intelligence agencies are interrogating three persons who were arrested following the blast - two women, Razia and Amina, and one Badrul Alam Molla.
