Two inmates escape from Remand Home

The escapees identified as 17-year-old Sambhu Paharia, an accused in a rape case and Saheb John Besra climbed the boundary wall of the Remand Home with the help of a tree in the premises and fled last night, sources said.

The incident came to light today while head count was taken this morning, sources said adding that the district police has launched a search to trace them back.

While Paharia, a resident of Mahespur police station of Pakur district, was lodged in the remand home since June 2010, Besra, a resident of Amrapara police station of Pakur, was in the Home since February last.
