Two investment proposals worth Rs 236 cr approved in Odisha

The State level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLWCA) in Odisha today approved investment proposals of two projects worth Rs 236 crore.

The SLWCA also recommended one case to the High Level Clearance Authority besides allowing Tata Power to change its plant site from Naraj in Cuttack to Begunia in Khurda in view of environmental problems.

The SWCLA meeting chaired by Chef Secretary J K Mohapatra, also allowed change of location for Chambal Infrastructure Ventures Ltd.

The company would now have its Rs 7,544 crore plant at a new location of Hindol in Dhenkanal district. The plant will generate direct employment to 1000 people, sources said.
 

Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation Limited (IPICOL) chairman G Mathivathanan said two projects of Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) have been approved by the SLWCA and another proposal of J Green Power Ltd have been recommended to HLCA.

Central PSU CONCOR has proposed to develop a Multi Modal Logistic Park (MMLP) at Rayagada for transport solution of the industries in and around Miniguda.

It will cater to the need of large scale industries like Vedanta Alumina Limited, Linjigarah, Utkal Alimina, IMFA, JK Paper Mills and RSB Metaltech, Rayagada.

MMLP will be a centralised place for all types of transportation activities and value added services needed by importers, exporters and local traders.

CONCOR has also envisaged developing infrastructural facilities like two full length rail lines for loading and unloading with one more line for entry of trains, ware housing facility, separate paved area for handling of bulk cargo and containers, truck parking terminal, customs facility, adequate state of art handling technology.

The land requirement of the Rs 123 crore project is around 43 acres and power requirement is 180 KW. The water requirement is only 5 KL per day.

As per tentative time schedule, the project will be implemented within 36 months from the date of obtaining clearances and start of land acquisition.
