Two IPS officers, constable felicitated for scaling Everest

Two IPS officers, including a woman DIG, and a constable, who scaled Mount Everest, were felicitated by Home Minister Rajnath Singh here today.

Aparna Kumar, who is serving as Deputy Inspector General of Uttar Pradesh Police, became the first woman IPS officer to climb the world's highest peak last week.

Suhail Sharma, a 2012 batch Maharashtra-cadre IPS officer, and Rafiq Shaikh, a constable of Maharashtra Police, too have scaled it.

The three police personnel were felicitated by the Home Minister at a small function held at his office in North Block here where he appreciated their efforts.

Home Ministry officials were present during the felicitation of the three adventurists.
