Two jute mills of Hoogly district in West Bengal will reopen tomorrow after the authorities put up notices of suspension of work there citing labour unrest.

State parliamentary secretary in charge of labour Tapan Dasgupta said: "The authorities of Angus Jute Mill at Bhadreswar and India Jute Mill at Serampore have decided to start operation from tomorrow after a meeting with the district administration and trade union leaders."

Authorities of Angus Jute Mill located at Bhadreswar slapped a suspension of work notice at the gate yesterday after labour unrest since the morning.

The trouble began with the decision to transfer 15 workers from the preparing department to its batching department on Sunday.

The authorities of India Jute Mill at Serampore had also put up notice of suspension of work citing labour unrest ten days ago.

"This jute mill will also start operation tomorrow," Dasgupta said.
