Two 'kanwariyas' were today killed and as many others injured after a vehicle ran over them near a village in Bihar's Jamui district, a police officer said.
The mishap took place near Koteshwar temple in Dumri village as a group of 'kanwariyas' were asleep on roadside when a speeding car ran over them.
While one 'kanwariya' died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries in a hospital, Sono police station in-charge Deepak Kumar said.
Two other 'kanwariyas' sustained injuries, he said.
The victims, both natives of Saran district, have been identified as Ajit Kumar and Satya Narayan Singh alias Satan Singh, Kumar said.
The injured were admitted to Sadar hospital.
The driver has been arrested and his vehicle impounded, the police officer added.
