Two persons were killed and three others critically injured when an auto-rickshaw carrying them was hit by a truck in this district today.
The mishap took place when the beer-laden truck proceeding towards Angul rammed into the three-wheeler on its way to Gohirakhal from Balabhadrapur near here, police said.
The deceased were identified as Ranjan Pradhan (32) and auto driver Bhima Mandal (40).
Ranjan's wife Jharana, minor daughter and a relative were seriously injured and admitted to hospital. A search was on for the driver of the truck who fled.
