Two persons, including a child, died and at least 22 were injured when a private tourist bus collided with a gas tanker head-on near Kathgarh on Balachaur-Ropar Road today.
The accident occurred in the wee hours when the tourist bus was going to Chandigarh from Jalandhar and the tanker was on its way to Amritsar from Banur, the police said.
While the child died while being taken to PGIMER in Chandigarh, the other person died at the accident spot, they said, the age of those who died are yet to be known.
The injured were admitted in various hospitals including in Ropar, Balachaur, Nawanshahr and PGIMER in Chandigarh.
